Our fellowship began to meet in the home of our pastor in November 1997. Since then our numbers have grown. We now meet each Sunday morning in our church building, located in Batticaloa.

We are people from all kinds of backgrounds who come together to worship the Lord and to be taught by Him. We do this by singing hymns and psalms, praying together and hearing the preaching of His Word.

Our beliefs are summarised in the Baptist Confession of 1689 but fundamentally we believe that the Bible is the word of God: every word inspired by Him. We believe that it has been faithfully handed down to us and that it contains all we need to know to serve God well in today’s world. We believe that it is the best guide for our lives and that it must be heeded. So we aim to present its teaching with faithfulness to what God has said and in such a way that it is understandable to all.
