He is married to Ruba and has one daughter, Ruth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a young man Kethees was forced to leave Sri Lanka to live in India where events left him without friends or income and with no way to return home. Hunger and loneliness led to depression such that he planned to take his own life. It was then that God brought him into contact with a Christian believer who cared for him and gave him work. After about three months, searching for guidance for the future, Kethees picked up a Bible and began to read. The words he read directly addressed his situation so he continued to read the scriptures and within a matter of weeks yielded his life to the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He returned to Sri Lanka and after marrying Ruba, a believer from Trincomalee, he moved to Batticaloa with the intention of establishing a church that would bring the good news he had been told about Jesus Christ to the people of his home town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kethees has been used by God to plant churches in three places. The first was at Bar Road, Batticaloa 1997, the second at Thiraimadu (about 10 miles from Batticaloa) in 2006, and the third in Kilinochchi in 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pastor Ketheeswaran was born and grew up in the south of Batticaloa District in eastern Sri Lanka.
